Early in the morning when I am in Crestone, I love to take my green tea outside watch the sun rise over the 14,000 foot peaks. Every day it’s a new show. Pink and orange light mixes with clouds and rock and blue sky.

The artwork captures a mountainous landscape under a vibrant sky. Cool and muted tones define the rugged peaks, with visible brush strokes indicating the rough terrain. The mountains are portrayed with a mix of light and shadow, adding depth and texture. 
The sky, occupying the upper half of the canvas, transitions from bright blue at the top to softer hues near the horizon. Clouds tinged with warm oranges and light pinks hint at either sunrise or sunset, providing a dramatic contrast to the cooler mountain colors below.
