About Awakening with Art

Awakening is an art--of discovering peace, finding insight and inspiration, and spreading love and joy - and these fine art prints are designed to support that process.

Meet Kim + Steve

We are a husband and wife team of artists!

We met at the art gallery where we were both showing our work, and two years later we got married in a private ceremony in the mountain wilderness in the Rocky Mountains.

We love mountains. We love each other. We love art.

We hope you'll love our art.

Meet Kim Roberts, Artist

Kim Roberts is a Colorado-based contemporary artist.

Each of her prints starts as original fine art, created with oil or acrylic paint, ink, encaustic wax, or watercolor.

Trained as a mental health professional and meditation instructor, Kim taught yoga programs at luxury resorts and retreats around the world for 20 years. She earned an MA in Contemplative Psychology from Naropa University in 1994 and received Pattabhi Jois’ authorization to teach Ashtanga Yoga in 2003.

She is the author of two books, Ashtanga Yoga for Beginner’s Mind and Toward a Secret Sky: Creating Your Own Modern Pilgrimage. She has also contributed to MindBodyGreen and Elephant Journal, and other publications.

Kim spent the better part of 20 years living and working in South and Southeast Asia, leading retreats and teaching healing practices at high-end resorts and retreat centers—including a two-year stint managing the yoga program at the Landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central Hong Kong and another two-year stint teaching yoga at several five-star resorts in the Kingdom of Bhutan.

When painting proved to be her source of wellness, she shifted her focus to making art. She has had numerous solo exhibits in the Denver area, and was previously represented by commercial galleries in Crested Butte, Breckenridge, Evergreen and Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
