The inspiration behind "Rain" is the sight of water pooling on windows during a downpour. Its unique creation process involves a technique called encaustic wax monotype. Beeswax crayons—made of beeswax, pigment, and resin—are melted on a hot metal plate. Silicon tools shape the design, which is then transferred onto fine Japanese rice paper. This method results in a vibrant monoprint that evokes the fluidity and unpredictability of rain.
Various shades of blue form a fluid and dynamic composition, highlighting organic, flowing forms. Circular and elongated shapes interact to convey depth and movement, resembling a wash of watercolor or ink. This results in an expressive and spontaneous visual journey.
This encaustic wax monotype on Japanese paper is mounted on a simple mat-board frame in a protective plastic sleeve.
